Solar Power Myths

Why Solar Panels are Called Pure Energy

For way too many years, people have thought of the energy they purchased from their local utility companies as natural energy, but we have since learned the energy from the sun is actually natural, pure energy that produces what is referred to as limitless solar energy.

The sun produces more than enough energy to meet the needs of people throughout the entire world and is not going to become extinct which makes it different from fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources are much more cost-effective and efficient than fossil fuel energy. Renewable energy is also much better for the environment and in trying to stop climate change.

Why Solar Panels are Called Pure Energy

One reason why solar power is called clean energy is that they do not release greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere while they are creating electricity. The sun gives us more energy than we will ever need in our lifetimes and electricity from solar power is a very important source of energy in the process of moving to clean energy production.

Another reason why solar power is called clean energy is that after solar panels are installed, the operational costs to operate them are much lower compared to other ways of generating power. There is no fuel required which means solar power can create huge amounts of electricity without the expense of paying for a fuel supply and the uncertainty of how long it will remain available.

What is Solar Power?

The sun is mostly made up of hot hydrogen gas and the core of the sun is the hottest part. Nuclear fusion, which is the compression and fusion of hydrogen atoms, is the method that produces a huge volume of energy that is hotter than 27 million degrees Fahrenheit at the core of the sun before it travels up to the surface of the sun and out into the solar system. The sun is estimated to be 4.5 billion years old and after all this time, it keeps producing this massive amount of energy that is stable and that we need to harness and then used to power our homes, buildings, and businesses.

Solar Power and the Environment

Another reason why solar power is called clean energy is that there is way less of an impact from solar power on the environment. Basically, the only impact is related to the production and supply of the special materials and metals that are needed to make and transport solar panels. Scientists are working on ways to find alternative methods to clean solar panels and to produce them.

How do Solar Panels Work?

It has already been established that solar panels are pure energy, but how do they work? Basically, they contain photovoltaic cells in a solar panel that are able to turn sunlight into direct current electricity. The inverter then converts the direct current electricity into alternating current electricity to produce the electricity that is used, stored in a battery, or fed into the grid.

What is the Cost of Solar Panels?

The cost of solar panels depends on how many are needed in where they are being installed. Overall though, solar power is becoming increasingly more affordable each year. It is considered the crucial future production way of moving to clean energy throughout the world and as economies change and the prices go down, it will increase in importance even more so.

Overall, as the cost for solar panels and solar energy predictably decreases, the use of solar energy and solar panels will increase. This pure form of energy is cleaner for our environment and much more efficient. It is predicted that we will, eventually, only use renewable energy sources to heat and power our homes, offices, factories, businesses, and more within the coming decades. This process will not only end up being cheaper for consumers of energy but will also help decrease the effects that the burning of fossil fuels has had on the environment and their effects on climate change.
